4. Things Student teacher did to help you learn?
They displayed a visual reference by showing layouts of different types of housing. They shared personal experiences. They spoke clearly and gave many examples. They let us think through what would be best for us.
Survey Reflection 11/18/11 I was very surprised to find out that all o the students gave very complete answers and good feedback. I feel they made an effort to help us better improve ourselves, and we are very fortunate considering many students would not have taken the time. I think the most obvious result of the survey was that 88% of the students only wrote down our first objective. Even though we covered the other objectives, this was the one that stood out to the majority of the class. I would have liked to have seen a mix of all of the objectives, so I definitely feel that I need to improve on make strong impressions with all of my objectives. I think the information was very easy for the students to get involved in because it will be happening to them so soon in their future. The housing material we displayed not only excited them about moving out, but they felt it was important to obtain. Based on the surveys, I feel the students each took something different away from this lesson, and I feel that is because we shared so many personal experiences. Our variety of experiences helped most of the students relate in some way instead of just focusing on one group. They were all able to identify the unit, but again I think that is because our cooperating teacher spoke about it a little bit before we started class. We have been working on and combining the two lessons of credit and housing because they are so closely related. Finally, I think the feedback from the students was the most beneficial part for me because they were very truthful and brought to my attention some things I did not even realize I was doing. For example, one student wrote that she learned because we let her make her own decision after we presented the information. She was able to take the lesson and apply it to her real life situation.
